Oak Crest Academy uses Narrative Evaluations instead of traditional letter grades. Because the purpose of evaluation is to give students and parents meaningful, constructive feedback, teacher’s provide written feedback. Detailed written evaluations reflect students’ engagement and performance in courses, projects, and other evaluated learning activities.
Our narrative evaluation system eliminates competition, enhancing Oak Crest’s collaborative learning community. Parents appreciate Oak Crest’s comprehensive narrative transcript, which offers a level of detail not reflected on traditional transcripts. Most schools accept narrative evaluations, however, for students transferring to schools that require letter grades, Oak Crest will translate the narrative evaluations into letter grades.
